Whether you are on the road, in the woods, or on the lake, you should always have a survival kit handy. Why pay money for someone to build your survival kit? Here is an inventory of items to add to your homemade survival kit. This kit is meant to store in a bag or keep in a vehicle.
I added the following items to my survival kit:
1. Mini Tin Coffee Can 2. Water Purification Tablets 3. Firestarter Stick 4. Handwarmer Package 5. Footwarmer Package 6. Thin Wire String 7. Several Feet of Duct Tape (wrapped up) 8. Several Feet of Electrical Tape (wrapped up) 9. Whistle / String / Matches Case (filled with waterproof matches) 10. Swiss Army Knife (with small saw, screwdrivers, and knives) 11. Small Mirror 12. Small Sewing Package (thread, safety pin, needle, button) 13. Flashlight w/ 2 double-A batteries 14. (2) Double-A Batteries 15. (2) Triple-A Batteries 16. Small Package of Sunblock 17. Flint and Steel 18. Gauze Wrap 19. Tinfoil Wrap 20. (4) Advil Pills 21. Candle 22. 12' Fishing Line 23. (2) Razor Blades 24. Several Feet Camo Duct Tape 25. (2) Large Band Aids 26. (2) Small Band Aids
The image below shows all the items. Many of the items have dual purposes. For instance, the gauze can be used on a wound or it can be used as tinder to start a fire. The container is used to package the survival kit as well as to boil water if the need arises.
